Tiles
Tiles, used to cover buildings and ensure their waterproofing, are often made of clay but also exist in cement concrete. They are marketed in several different forms (flat, raised, curved, etc.).
Objective
Conceive a test bench ensuring programmable bending tests up to product’s breaking point. Bending tests are carried out in accordance with NF EN 491 and NF EN 538.
Problematic issues
Creating a compact testing machine to facilitate its transport and that has intuitive setting commands to launch automatic cycles.
Solution and result
LF Technologies engineers thought about a compact machine, easily transportable and very simple to use.
The bending test bench makes bending tests on tiles with progressive strength optimised up to breaking point or maximum strength programmed by the operator up to 10 000 N.).
The operator can set the gap between the two support points according to the product to be tested (tile, tiling, glass, earthenware, etc.)
