Technical description

Our generator is designed to regulate the temperature of a hot water tank and a cold water tank

Main functions

The hot and cold water generator allows to regulate a hot water vessel and a cold water vessel in order to supply hot and cold water to the tap test benches, all in a closed circuit.

Equipped with a heating and cooling system, this generator can supply, continuously and in closed circuit, a total mixed flow of 14, 24 or 34 l/min with a deltaT of 50°C.

Thanks to its energy recovery system, this generator provides a total thermal power (hot + cold) approximately 2 times the electrical power consumed.

Combined with benches equipped with hot/cold water switchers, energy consumption can be greatly reduced when the tested faucets are not in the mixing position (50% hot 50% cold).

Operating mode

A chilled water vessel, used as a cold reserve, is cooled by a heat pump. This heat pump transfers some of the "pumped" calories into the cold reserve to the hot water vessel.

The control of the cold water vessel is done by controlled exchange with the chilled water vessel.

The control of the hot water vessel is finalized by an electrical resistance.

The surplus total heat (part not recovered by the heat pump) is discharged by an air heater, which can be offset from the generator.

All flows of fluids are made by centrifugal pumps servo-controlled in speed regulation.

The vessels are made of double skin stainless steel with polyurethane insulation.

Each vessel is equipped with several temperature sensors allowing to measure the possible temperature stratification (cooler water at the bottom, warmer at the top) and, in this case, to trigger automatic mixing.

The whole system is controlled by a PC equipped with a program ensuring the temperature regulation of ± 0.3 °C whatever the flow rate, while managing the level safeties of the tanks, automatic balancing of tanks, etc.
