Performance test bench for transmission systems

The Perf-Gearbox is a test bench designed to characterize the performance of a mechanical transmission system under different operating conditions. It controls the rotational speed and torque applied to the product under test, while accurately measuring the mechanical quantities at the input and output.
With programmable test sequences and simultaneous data acquisition, the bench can be used to assess product behavior, mechanical efficiency and changes under different load and speed conditions.

Main functions
The Perf-Gearbox is designed to characterize the mechanical performance of a gearbox or a transmission system. It allows for reproducing various operating conditions operating conditions by controlling the speed at the input and the resisting torque applied at the output, while measuring the main mechanical parameters of the product under test.
The bench allows in particular for measuring the input and output torques and speeds, to calculate the mechanical efficiency, to monitor the operating forces and to record the results during the course of programmed test sequences.
Operating mode
The gearbox or transmission system is installed on the bench and coupled to the input and output shafts. An active motorized drive applies the programmed rotational speed to the product input, while a second motorized unit brakes the output according to a defined torque.
Torque and speed are measured continuously to monitor the product’s mechanical behavior and calculate its efficiency. Depending on the bench configuration, an actuator can also operate the selection control and measure the torque required for its movement.
The control software runs the defined test sequences, displays measured values in real time and archives the results. It can also incorporate noise and vibration monitoring to provide a more complete analysis of gearbox behavior during testing.

The Perf-Gearbox software centralizes sequence programming, setpoint and tolerance settings, and real-time display of measurements and curves. Programs can be saved and reused, while results are archived to ensure complete traceability of the tests.
